June 2018 International Potluck event

There were some terrific speakers who graced the attendees of the June 2018 International Potluck event held at Lindenwood Park in Fargo. This event was held on the internationally celebrated World Refugee Day.

First Kwaician El, an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer, and lover of music, played and shared his story with the audience. ... And second, Muhend Abakar, a Fargo South High School graduate, who was born in Nyala, Sudan, and lived in Egypt until 2012, shared his personal story.

Kwaician is a Chicago native, among other Illinois places he called home. He finished high school at Fargo South High, and later headlined a show at the historical Fargo Theatre. The wool haired, copper skinned singer/songwriter feels right at home, whether on a theater stage, a coffee shop, or busking to a crowd of one. Kwaician is an artistic dynamo, with tunes that will make your head bounce as much as the ballads will pull on your heart strings.

In addition to the live musical performances, the audience was entertained by live performances from Damilola Adepitan and Diversity Dance Group from Minnesota Stat University Moorhead.

We were lucky enough that the local Fox affiliate, KVRR, was at the event and filed this report: https://www.kvrr.com/2018/06/20/president-trumps-executive-order-strikes-a-chord-in-the-metro/?fbclid=IwAR3eRmscgLeg0rgnLcVEjZohYd-zxpySQBYsFLtgnwATgg1pyLWiyjMi248
